Stories/Favorite Memories
Suzette's Memorable Moments
After spending five years at CBCA and, having many years since pass by, here is what stands out in my memory:  basketball tournaments, soccer games, weekends at Melinda or Kelli's house, pizza slices, in plastic bags, that go through a toaster of some sort (and still managed to be yummy!), "learning" Chemistry from packets taught by a P.E. teacher, Nicki's birthday parties (loved the tacos and texas sheetcake!), letters to Tami, playing chess at lunch, making those chocolate chip cookie cards for a Valentine's Day fundraiser, the yearly plays, chorus with Ms. Palmer (I did not say favorite, I said memorable!), and all the drama that went with our senior trip.  I am sure that through the process of putting this reunion together, more memories will come back to me.  Here's hoping they are more fond than memorable.
Karen Chandler's (Brewster) Memories
What I remember most in my 9 years at Central Baptist Christian Academy is going to the basketball games and cheering on our team.  And especially 8th grade Science when Mr. Russell made us memorize Romans 6 from beginning to end!!  Even to this day whenever I am going through the Bible, and come across scripture in that passage, it brings me back to 8th grade with Mr. Russell.....anyone else remember those days?!?  With the "Yes sir Mr. Russell!!  No Sir, Mr. Russell!!" days?  That's what seems to stick out the most of my 9 yrs at CBCA.

My Memories

Yes, I remember Romans 6!  My pastor just preached on the passage we memorized a couple of weeks ago.  Kevin Griffin and I recited it in chapel.

Wow, how do you condense 9 years of memories into a few paragraphs? Some memories that stick out in my mind are of all the special programs we had.  My most memorable one was in 1st grade when I had to do my first ever solo with laryngitis.  Many of the songs we learned through the years still come to mind even now.

I remember playing jump rope at recess, the slumber party many of you girls came to for my 12th birthday and Academy of Arts chapels (I left before I could be in any plays though).

We were one of the first classes in the gym/ed building and the first addition to it.  Remember our secret fundraiser for the addition in 6th grade?

Some other memories that stick out is of 6th grade when we went to Elizabeth Church Manor for our adopt a grandparent program.  My "grandma" died the summer after we did that.  I found the plastic plate we made that year also.

I treasure the friendships I made and the Godly teachers that we had.  I am looking forward to renewing friendships.

Thanks again for making me a honorary member of the Class of '88!

David Furman's Memories
I attended CBCA all the way through from Kindergarten thru the 12th grade and I have many great memories and many not so great memories (those usually involved a paddle).  I remember Kite Day that Central used to have when I was still in elementary and all of the older kids would bring in kites and fly them on this day in the afternoon.  I think I enjoyed Kite Day because it got us out of class and outdoors to run around.  I remember sledding in the winter down the big hill.  I remember the great basketball and soccer games we used to have and the big rivalry with Ross Corners.  I also remember getting alot of detentions from Miss Stone who I thought had to be the meanest teacher around, but now that I look back I wouldn't have traded her for any other teacher, because what I didn't probably realize then was how much she loved us and wanted us to do right.  I remember the great parties at John Guernsey's house, you knew that you were always going to have a great time at the Guernseys, they knew how to throw a party.  I remember asking my parents why I had to go to Central while in high school and why couldn't I go to a public school.  I am so thankful that they didn't listen to me because to tell you the truth I can't really remember too many bad memories from Central, but I sure do have alot of great ones and alot of great memories with alot of great friends!

Just about every memory I have from 1st grade right up into my adult years involves an amazing friend ... Sheli Faulkner!  Her smile was so warm and lit up a room.  In case you haven't heard, Sheli died on February 29, 2008.  I have so many memories and I know she is rocking heaven with her Mom!!

I remember 3rd grade with Mrs. Carpenter and what an amazing person, as well as teacher, she was!  She truly taught from her heart and she'll always have a special place in my heart.

I remember our annual class trips to Cole Park ... cheering at basketball games ... trying to learn French with Mrs. Forrester.  I remember our senior trip and having a great time in Virginia Beach.

There are many memories I can't share, but they are GREAT!!!!  LOL
